Decision-bias training for crypto traders
Can you read the market before the ticker changes your mind?
Trench Trials blinds token identities, asks you to choose using Nansen onchain signals, then reveals the names and measures exactly what recognition gained — or cost — you.

Names, prices and the outcome stay sealed until you lock your read.
The problem isn’t a lack of data. It’s knowing whether you followed it.
Crypto traders have more dashboards than ever, but familiar tickers and narratives still distort decisions. Ordinary backtests record only the final call. Trench Trials records the choice before and after identity is revealed and prices the difference.

Ticker Tax
blind-choice return − final-choice return
Keeping your blind pick costs exactly 0.0 pp.
Recognition has a price.
Ticker Tax is the return gained or lost after the names appear. After five explicit decisions it becomes your personal measure of narrative bias.
Nansen is the evidence.
Nansen selects the eligible tokens, supplies every blind clue and provides the price candles that determine the verdict. Remove Nansen and no new round can be created.
Existing rounds remain playable during an API outage because their authenticated Nansen inputs are frozen and hash-sealed before play. New Replay, Daily and Live rounds cannot be produced without Nansen, and no alternate source is substituted.

All questionsWhat is Trench Trials?
Decision-bias training for crypto traders. It measures how revealing a token’s identity changes your decision: you choose with the names hidden, choose again after seeing them, and the real outcome shows what the change gained or cost.
Who is it for?
Individual crypto traders and analysts who want to test whether they follow market signals or familiar narratives. Trading communities can use the shared Daily as a common calibration exercise.
What is a blind pick?
Your first choice. You compare three tokens using four Nansen signals each, while their names, addresses, dates and prices are hidden, and lock the one you think will return the most.
What is the Unmask stage?
Once your blind pick is locked, the three names appear while the outcome stays sealed. A short window runs on the server’s clock: stick with your pick or switch, once. If time runs out, your blind pick stands.
What is Ticker Tax?
Your blind pick’s return minus your final pick’s return, in percentage points: what changing your mind after seeing the names cost or gained you. Sticking costs exactly zero. It becomes a measurement after five explicit decisions.
Is frozen data fake or simulated?
No. It is the exact authenticated Nansen data the round was built from, stored with each response’s request ID and SHA-256 hash. Nothing is mocked, estimated or substituted.
What happens if Nansen is unavailable?
Rounds that already exist stay playable, because their inputs are frozen and hash-sealed. No new Replay, Daily or Live round can be created until Nansen is reachable again, and no other data source is used.
Is this financial advice?
No. Rounds use past market data to measure decision-making. Past returns say nothing about future returns.
